Skin Care 101 in the Winter

With the winter getting colder and colder it’s very easy to lose the glow your skin has. The cold weather and exposure to heaters takes all the moisture away from your skin causing it to become very dry. Along with that we also get flaky skin and chapped lips which is not fun at all nor does it look good. So how do we avoid this? I think every girl needs to know how to take care of her skin during the winter.

Here’s my Skin Care 101 in the winter 🙂

Let’s start with the face first, it’s very important to keep the moisture in your face in the winter so you don’t get dry or breakout.
Use a tonner/cleanser after you wash your face, then apply lotion and a cream that is thick enough. You can also you oils to add moisture to the skin. I personally use Clarin’s Lotus Face Treatment Oil mixed with my moisturizer which is the HydraQuench Cream-Gel. After that apply an eye cream to ensure your eyes get enough moisture as well. I personally use both Clarin’s eye contour gel and eye contour balm. The Eye Contour Balm works amazing for the winter.

The lips are also very important as a part of your skin care, find a lip balm that would do the job. Chapped lips are not pretty, not when you love putting lipstick. I use Flexitol’s Lip Balm and I cannot stress how great this product is. I literally carry it with me everywhere in the winter. I usually stick to Blistex’s lip balms but in the winter there’s no doubt that Flexitol’s lip balm is the best.

Other than the face, keeping your body moisturized is also necessary even though not much of it is shown ! I utterly hate it when my legs become dry I feel absolutely disgusted. In the winter, you should look for richer body lotions/creams preferably with some oils inside them like coconut oils while in the summer you should stick to the lighter lotions. This winter I’ve chosen Nivea’s Essentially Enriched and Express Hydration. On days I particularly feel like my skin is drier I would use the Essentially Enriched since it’s much thicker than the Express Hydration and has Almond Oil inside of it. It nourishes my skin and makes it feel so soft, shiny and supple.

Apart of my skin care I also use foot creams specifically Ahava’s Deadsea water mineral foot cream. It’s the most amazing foot cream I’ve tried so far. I don’t think it’s a must for everybody to use foot cream as well since most people use body lotion and that’s it. Other than that, I also carry hand cream around with me when I go to study and when I go to work in the office. Dry and chapped hands just really sucks and it hurts ! Honestly almost every hand cream I’ve used have done that job ranging from Clarin’s Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, Neutrogena’s hand cream and more.
